The 2026 edition of the European Week of Sport in Arganil has been announced, scheduled to take place from September 23 to 30. Presented by Mayor Luís Paulo Costa and Education Councilor Luís Almeida, the event aims to promote physical activity and active lifestyles across all age groups.

The upcoming program shows significant growth, featuring 29 activities and 32 partners, representing an increase of approximately 38% in activities and 33% in partners compared to 2025. The initiative will involve 12 parishes, 7 institutional partners, and 13 local partners, ensuring broad community reach.

Promoted by the European Commission under the ‘BEACTIVE’ motto, this marks the 7th consecutive year Arganil has hosted the event. The programming is designed to be inclusive, offering activities for seniors, students, and individuals with intellectual disabilities.
