Arganil municipality releases 2026 guide to river beaches and bathing zones

The municipality of Arganil in Portugal has published the 2026 "Guide to River Beaches and Bathing Zones," a bilingual (Portuguese‑English) booklet covering 17 river‑beach sites and leisure areas across its parishes. The guide provides detailed information for each location, including geographic coordinates, available amenities such as parking, sanitary facilities, bars, camping and picnic areas, as well as lifeguard schedules and accessibility features. Notable sites highlighted are the Cascalheira beach (season runs 15 June – 7 September) and the beaches in Côja, Benfeita and Pomares (season runs 1 July – 31 August). All sites are supervised by lifeguards, and several – Cascalheira, Côja and Pomares – offer amphibian chairs and adapted facilities to improve access for visitors with reduced mobility. The publication aims to promote safe, responsible and sustainable enjoyment of Arganil’s natural river landscapes during the summer months.
