Arge Alp and EUSALP hold leadership transitions and regional summits

The Arge Alp working community, representing approximately 26 million people across Alpine territories, held a conference in Bregenz, Austria, marking a transition in presidency from Vorarlberg to Bavaria. Key discussions focused on economic development, mountain agriculture sustainability, and water resilience. Resolutions were passed to protect local production and ensure the public sovereignty of water resources through cooperation between autonomous provinces, regions, and cantons.

Simultaneously, the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP) concluded its Bavarian presidency during a general assembly in Lindau, Germany. The presidency will transition to France on January 1. Regional leaders, including South Tyrol Governor Arno Kompatscher, addressed cross-border challenges such as digitalization, mobility, and energy supply. A dedicated energy conference explored innovative concepts for sustainable urban heat supply and the energy transition within the Alpine space.
