Argeș delegation to participate in inaugural Dinu Lipatti Tokyo Music Festival

A delegation of officials and artists from Argeș will represent the Romanian county at the inaugural Dinu Lipatti Tokyo Music Festival, held from October 10 to 12. The event is organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Tokyo, the Romanian Embassy in Japan, and the Min-On Concert Association.

The program features the Pitești Philharmonic and the Doina Argeșului Center, performing works by Dinu Lipatti and George Enescu, alongside traditional music from the Argeș and Muscel regions and a suite of traditional Japanese songs. The festival also includes a documentary exhibition about the renowned pianist, utilizing materials from the Argeș County Museum, which manages the Dinu Lipatti Memorial House.

Performances will include recitals by artists from the National Opera Bucharest, as well as the internationally recognized duo of violinist Diana Jipa and pianist Ștefan Doniga. Demand for the festival has been high, with all five scheduled concerts selling out ten days prior to the debut, leading organizers to implement a lottery system for remaining access requests.
