Argent LNG Secures U.S. DOE Authorization for Louisiana Export Terminal

The U.S. Department of Energy has granted Argent LNG, LLC long‑term authorization to export domestically produced liquefied natural gas from its proposed terminal at Port Fourchon, Louisiana. The order allows up to 25 million tonnes per year (equivalent to 1.3 trillion cubic feet) for a 20‑year term, with a three‑year make‑up period after the export term ends.

The approval covers shipments to any country that has a free‑trade agreement with the United States, including Australia, Canada, South Korea, Singapore and several others. Argent LNG may export on its own behalf or as an agent for other parties, and the authorization is a key step toward a final investment decision on the project, which would add significant capacity to the Gulf Coast LNG export fleet.
