Argentina adds primary health centres in Tierra del Fuego and Fernández Oro
The Ministry of Health of Tierra del Fuego released the operating schedule for its network of Primary Health Care Centres (CAPS) in the province’s three cities. Each centre will be open from 10:00 to 18:00, offering adult general medicine, dentistry, social work, psychology, nursing, contraceptive counseling, and seasonal flu vaccination, among other services. Specific locations include USHUAI, CAPS 4, CAPS 6, CAPS 8, CAPS 9, Cabo San Pío, Río Grande Posta Sanitaria, and CAPS 2, each with contact numbers and address details.
In Fernández Oro, the local hospital announced the reopening of the former Isla 10 CAPS after a comprehensive renovation. Director Mabel Raviola reported upgrades such as new bathrooms, kitchen sinks, electrical wiring, gas lines, heating, air‑conditioning, modern dental equipment, interior painting and garden work, with exterior façade work pending. The centre will provide nursing, general medicine, pediatrics, gyne‑obstetrics, mental health, and dentistry, and will operate Monday‑Friday, 08:00‑16:00, including special evening slots for chronic‑disease patients.
