Argentina: ADIF seeks synthetic sleepers for San Martin railway
Trenes Argentinos Infraestructura (ADIF) has received bids from three Argentine firms for the purchase of 28,700 synthetic wide-gauge sleepers. These units are intended to replace existing wooden sleepers for maintenance work on the San Martin railway line.
The procurement, organized under Public Tender 11/2026, is divided into two lots of 14,350 units each. The first lot will be delivered to Caseros station, while the second will go to Pilar station. The participating companies are Grupo RFG, Induvía, and Euromix.
To ensure quality, the process includes technical inspections, documentary controls, and physical testing conducted by an external control body designated by ADIF. ADIF will supervise these controls and must approve a prototype before delivery. This initiative builds upon a 2021 project by Trenes Argentinos Cargas that aimed to incorporate monoblock sleepers made from recycled materials.
