Argentina defeats Mexico 3-2 to advance in U-20 Women's World Cup

Argentina's U-20 women's national team secured a spot in the round of 16 at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland after a 3-2 comeback victory against Mexico in Katowice.

Argentina opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a header from Annika Paz. Mexico responded before halftime through Deiry Ramírez, who scored twice—once with a long-range strike and again with a header following an assist from Alice Soto—to give the Mexican side a 2-1 lead. A third Mexican goal by Ramírez was disallowed by VAR due to a handball.

In the second half, Alma Velasco equalized for Argentina in the 78th minute after a rebound from a free kick. In stoppage time, Dolores Delgado scored the decisive goal for Argentina by capitalizing on a defensive error and a failed clearance by the Mexican goalkeeper.

With this win, Argentina finished second in Group A with six points, while Mexico was eliminated in the group stage, finishing third with only one point from three matches. This marks one of Mexico's poorest performances in the history of the tournament.
