Argentina advances lobby‑registration law and super‑RIGI investment incentive scheme

On 11 June, the Argentine government will seek to regain parliamentary initiative in the Chamber of Deputies by moving two strategic bills forward. The first, a lobby‑registration law, proposes a public register of lobbying activities, mandatory sworn statements of interests, and penalties ranging from fines up to 500 minimum wages to prison terms for clandestine foreign representation. The second, dubbed “super‑RIGI,” is an incentive regime aimed at large‑scale investments in critical‑mineral mining, renewable‑energy projects, electric‑vehicle production, hydrogen, wind turbines, solar panels, small‑medium nuclear reactors, semiconductors, artificial‑intelligence and other high‑technology sectors. Lawmakers plan plenary debates on the lobby bill in the Constitutional and General Legislation commissions at 11 a.m., followed by a 2 p.m. session on super‑RIGI in the Budget, Industry and Science committee, with a view to issuing opinions and scheduling a vote for 24 June.
