Argentina advances major sports complex projects in Mendoza, Rio Negro and Santa Fe

In Mendoza Province, Governor Alfredo Cornejo inspected the nearly finished Palmira sports complex, a multi‑facility campus that includes LED‑lit fields, an eight‑lane track, a covered arena for 1,130 spectators and extensive educational spaces. The project is funded through the National Education Funding Law.

In Rio Negro, Governor Alberto Weretilneck announced a 40 million‑peso contribution to Viedma mayor Marcos Castro for a new sand arena in Parque Ferreira. The investment, part of a total budget exceeding 257 million pesos, will provide lighting, drainage, stands and equipment for beach volleyball, handball and football, aiming to attract national and international competitions and stimulate the local sports economy.

In Santa Fe Province, construction of the new gymnasium at the Centro de Educación Física No. 22 in Coronda has reached 80 percent completion. The building will house futsal, basketball and volleyball courts, multiple transverse courts, offices, storage, stands and changing facilities. Parallel works are improving access roads, pedestrian pathways, lighting and landscaping around the site.
