Argentina advances new memory parks in La Rioja and Córdoba
Governor Ricardo Quintela visited the newly built Parque Temático Turístico Memoria y Martirio in La Rioja. The park commemorates the 50th anniversary of the martyrdom of Monseñor Enrique Angelelli, Carlos de Dios Murias, Gabriel Longueville and Wenceslao Pedernera, and is promoted as a cultural‑tourist hub to preserve their legacy and strengthen provincial identity. Quintela highlighted the site as a permanent tribute, noting Angelelli’s call to reject hatred and urging new generations to build a more just Argentina.
In Córdoba, Mayor Daniel Passerini toured the construction of the future Centro Metropolitano de Interpretación de las Islas Malvinas, housed in the historic Obispo Mercadillo building. The project, funded by municipal, provincial and metropolitan bodies, is 40 % complete and will feature immersive 360° exhibitions, permanent galleries and universal accessibility, aiming to bring the history of the Malvinas to residents and visitors.
Both initiatives reflect Argentina’s broader effort to turn historic memory into educational and tourism assets.
