Argentina advances police station projects in Resistencia and Rosario

Construction has begun on the new Comisaría 17 in Resistencia’s Villa Fabiana Norte district, part of a provincial plan to expand police infrastructure in the Chaco capital. The project was announced by Minister of Security Hugo Matkovich, who said it follows Governor Leandro Zdero’s decision to strengthen state presence in previously neglected neighborhoods. The new precinct will cover the La Defensa area and aim to boost patrols and emergency response for thousands of families.

In Rosario, officials toured the under‑construction Police Station Center, slated for completion in April 2027. Secretaries Esteban Santantino, Diego Leone, Federico Angelini and Director Ramiro Galassi described the building as a hub for centralizing operations, improving officer welfare, and fostering community links. The station will replace traditional precincts with six district‑based stations and include facilities such as a gym, dining area and staff accommodations.
