Argentina advances rail projects in Buenos Aires and Río Negro
The municipality of Almirante Brown has restarted work on the new university train station that will serve the National University Guillermo Brown campus and the Burzaco industrial park. The project includes elevated platforms, a pedestrian underpass and upgraded signalling, aiming to improve connectivity for more than 6,000 students and local residents. Mayor Mariano Cascallares said, “La nueva Estación Ferroviaria es una gran noticia para miles de vecinos…”.
In Río Negro, legislators announced progress on the reactivation of the Tren del Valle service in the Alto Valle region. Negotiations with Ferrosur and the operating company SOFSA are moving forward, with the provincial government planning to transfer operations to the Tren Patagónico. The line is expected to restore passenger service within 120 days, enhancing regional mobility and economic opportunities. Legislator Lorena Matzen noted, “Hoy recibimos una noticia muy importante…”.
