Argentina agro-industry reports record exports and market activity

Argentina's agro-industrial sector achieved record exports in September, with volumes reaching 11.43 million tons and a total value of USD 5,654 million. This represents a 17% increase in volume and a 14% increase in value compared to the previous year. Notable growth was seen in barley, corn, and olives.

In the Rosario grain market, corn prices were reported at $278,250 per ton on October 26, driven by export demand and logistical challenges such as port congestion and truck shortages. While corn maintained business in the available segment, soybean markets saw a resurgence in buyer interest for both physical deliveries and fixed operations. Wheat and sorghum showed more moderate or fluctuating activity.

Additionally, Argentina has undergone 60 international sanitary audits between December 2023 and October 2026. These evaluations, led by Senasa, are critical for maintaining and expanding access to global markets. Key auditing nations included Chile and China, with further audits from the European Union, Japan, and South Korea expected in the coming years.
