Argentina agricultural workshops promote poplar and pecan production
Agricultural training initiatives are advancing forestry and nut production in Argentina. At the Chacra Barrow Experimental Integrated Farm, a practical workshop focused on the multiplication and management of poplar clones. The session demonstrated the production of 60-centimeter stakes from mother plants, specifically using the Regonese 22 and Australiano 129/60 clones, which are noted for their growth and non-invasive characteristics.
In Corrientes, pecan nut cultivation is expanding in the southern region, with over 250 hectares currently planted. Through the Pecan Nut Program led by the Corrientes Government, a technical training session was held in Curuzú Cuatiá for more than 20 producers. The workshop covered essential practices such as pruning, winter management, nutrition, and health control to improve plantation efficiency and nut quality.
