Argentina allocates funds for scientific research and agricultural technology
The Province of Buenos Aires has awarded 32 projects through the first call of the Social Sciences and Humanities Innovation Fund (FONICS). Managed by the Ministry of Production, Science, and Technological Innovation, the fund will distribute 300 million pesos in non-reimbursable contributions to support applied research. These projects aim to link the province's scientific system with companies, public agencies, and municipalities across sectors such as education, health, digitalization, and food security.
Separately, the ArgenINTA Foundation has announced an investment of over US$ 2 million to upgrade equipment for the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA). This funding, which brings the foundation's total contributions for 2026 to approximately US$ 2.1 million, is intended to strengthen research, development, and innovation capabilities across various regional centers in Argentina. Recent investments include specialized machinery for cotton fiber quality assessment in Chaco-Formosa and laboratory equipment for animal fiber analysis in Bariloche.
