Argentina and Andorra roll out new teacher training programs

In Argentina's Mendoza province, the Directorate General of Schools organized the first in‑person primary‑level mathematics teacher training, running from May 27 to June 5 across more than 900 schools. Over 1,100 teachers participated, aiming to address recent learning gaps and improve student outcomes. Viviana Romero, provincial mathematics coordinator, said, "Hoy estamos en la Escuela 1‑123 Patricias Mendocinas…" emphasizing the need for teachers to use new digital platforms and become knowledge multipliers.

In Andorra, the Ministry of Institutional Relations, Education and Universities has begun tender procedures to create a digital academy that will deliver online professional development to teachers. The platform will offer modular courses aligned with national curricula, intended to boost teachers’ competencies, innovation and inclusive practices, and to allow teachers to act as trainers within their schools.
