Argentina's official dollar holds at 1,500 pesos as country risk eases

The official exchange rate in Argentina remained steady at 1,500 pesos per dollar, with the blue market quoted around 1,545 pesos and other rates such as the MEP near 1,512 pesos and the CCL above 1,560 pesos. The dollar‑card rate stayed at 1,950 pesos.

Country risk, measured by JP Morgan, fell to roughly 410 points after Moody’s upgraded Argentina’s sovereign rating to B‑3, prompting a modest rally in local equities—particularly energy firms—and a mixed performance in sovereign bonds, many of which posted slight declines on Wall Street.

Export surpluses and rising foreign‑currency inflows were cited as supporting factors for the stable peso, while analysts noted growing investment in sectors such as agro‑industry, hydrocarbons and mining, which could further bolster the economy.
