Argentina and Chile Expand Bilateral Investment Agenda
Argentina’s investment promotion agency, PromArgentina, led by executive Diego Sucalesca, held a series of meetings in Santiago with ProChile officials. The talks focused on deepening bilateral cooperation, launching a commercial intelligence strategy, and preparing a September business delegation of Argentine firms to Chile. A sector‑specific mission for the Argentine dairy industry was also confirmed. Trade data presented showed Argentina exported $6.282 billion to Chile in 2025 and imported $870 million, leaving a $5.412 billion surplus. In the first five months of 2026, exports to Chile reached $2.628 billion, with a $536 million surplus in May alone. Leading export items included crude oil, petroleum gas, automobiles, corn and soy oil. Sucalesca also participated in the Thought Leaders Chile 2026 forum, bringing together government and private‑sector leaders to discuss regional economic security and foreign‑direct investment.
The agreements aim to coordinate joint events in strategic sectors, develop soft‑landing programs for companies, and exchange best‑practice techniques to boost competitiveness across the Andes.
