Chile extends tax deadlines for flood‑hit communes

The Servicio de Impuestos Internos (SII) and the Treasury General of the Republic (TGR) announced that the deadline for filing and paying monthly taxes, including VAT (IVA) and forms 29 and 50, will be automatically extended to 30 October 2026 for taxpayers located in 29 communes across nine regions that were severely affected by the recent frontal weather system and heavy rains. The extension removes fines and interest for late filings and applies without the need for a formal request. The measure is aimed at individuals, entrepreneurs and small businesses whose operations were disrupted by floods, landslides and power outages.

In addition, deputies from the Biobío region have urged the executive to broaden the relief to property contributions for homeowners and agricultural landowners in the same emergency‑affected areas, highlighting the need for further fiscal support as recovery continues.
