Argentina and Chile sports ministries launch 2026 participation initiatives

Argentina’s Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Sport, through its Secretariat of Sports and Recreation, opened a call for federations, associations, leagues, clubs and event organizers to register sporting events scheduled for the second half of 2026. The registrations will be used to create the Provincial Sports Calendar for Catamarca Province covering July‑December, with submissions required via an online form accessed through a QR code or direct link.

Chile’s Ministry of Sport and the National Institute of Sports announced the application process for the new Regional Civil Society Sports Council (COSOC) in the Coquimbo Region for the 2026‑2028 term. The advisory body, composed of seven non‑profit representatives, will serve on a voluntary basis to advise on regional sport and physical activity policies. Applications are open to legally‑registered sport organisations in the Elqui, Limarí and Choapa provinces, with registration running from 19 June to 3 July 2026, candidacy submissions until 10 July, and online elections scheduled for 21‑27 July.
