Argentina and Colombia implement new financial data tools

In Argentina, a new digital tool has been developed to facilitate public access to the debt levels of government officials and their families. By crossing credit data from the Central Bank with public information regarding deputies, senators, and other state officials, the project aims to increase transparency. The tool, hosted at Cuanto Deben.visualizando.ar, allows users to search for individuals by name rather than manually searching through identity documents.

In Colombia, the National Planning Department has implemented the Registro Universal de Ingresos (RUI). This national tool integrates data from over 40 public entities, including labor income, social security contributions, and severance pay, to create a more precise socioeconomic classification of the population. The system is designed to modernize the targeting of social subsidies.

Regarding the RUI, officials clarified that while simply owning a digital wallet like Nequi or Daviplata does not automatically change a person's classification, financial movements and cash flows within these accounts are monitored. If a person's financial activity exceeds certain thresholds, it may result in a change to their official socioeconomic categorization.
