Argentina and Colombia Implement New Legal Reforms

The Argentine executive announced a nationwide digital overhaul of the vehicle registration system. Through resolutions 306 and 308, the Ministry of Justice formalized a plan to replace paper‑based processes with an online, interoperable platform, introduce a new fee calculation module tied to the UVA, and maintain physical assistance points for users with limited digital access. The reform aims to cut costs, speed up transactions, and modernize the administration of more than 1,500 regional offices.

In Colombia, the government issued Decree 652 of 2026 to define the conditions under which participants in the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) must be supported while carrying out restorative projects that fulfill their sanctions. The decree outlines health coverage, risk protection, habitability, security measures and training provisions for JEP comparecientes, and coordinates with defense, protection and territorial authorities to ensure safe implementation in host communities.
