Argentina and Mexico launch youth digital safety and emergency education programs

In the Argentine municipality of Rivadavia, a June 29 event titled “Redes sociales, Prevención y cuidado” was held at the Luis Sandrini Municipal Theatre. Expert Natalia Barneche addressed secondary‑school students on digital footprints, online risks and cyber‑crime prevention.

Also in Rivadavia, the “Rivadavia Elige Vivir” program organized large‑scale workshops on addiction prevention, involving students, teachers, families and municipal officials who discussed early‑detection tools and healthy habits.

The Jujuy provincial government took students from Escuela N° 468 on a guided visit to the provincial 911 Monitoring Center. The tour highlighted the role of operators, video surveillance, drones and a K9 unit, aiming to teach children when and how to use the emergency line responsibly.

In Tijuana, Mexico, more than 180 young participants attended a training session called “Habitar la red: Cuidados colectivos para navegar internet” at the Centro Cultural Tijuana. Organized by the Secretaría de Cultura and the Centro de Cultura Digital, the workshop focused on digital citizenship, violence prevention and collective care online as part of the city’s Jornadas de Paz program.
