Argentina and Mexico Launch Student Transport Programs with Bikes and Free Rides
In La Pampa province, Argentina, Governor Claudio Poggir visited the town of Fraga to hand over 14 bicycles to students of the Centro Educativo N°22 under the provincial TuBi program. The delivery brings the total number of TuBi bicycles distributed across the province to 11,014, a policy aimed at promoting health, environmental sustainability and equal educational opportunities. Transport Secretary Federico Amieva highlighted the broader mobility measures, including the Inter‑urban Educational Ticket (BEI), that support student access to schooling.
In Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, the free student transport route celebrated its first anniversary. Students and workers report significant savings and improved comfort, noting that the service allows them to allocate money to other needs. Mayor Tomás Gutiérrez Merino praised the initiative, saying it directly benefits families by reducing travel costs and expanding opportunities for education and work.
