Argentina and Peru football leagues announce schedule updates and new match rules

The La Liga Santafesina in Argentina released its Apertura "José Luis Burtovoy" schedule for the week, including postponed matches from earlier dates. Key fixtures include Sanjustino hosting Academia Cabrera in San Justo, Juventud Unida versus Colón de Santa Fe in Candioti, and the rescheduled 11th‑round game between Independiente and Universidad on July 22. Additional matches slated for July 29 feature Gimnasia y Esgrima against La Salle, and a decisive clash between La Perla del Oeste and Colón de San Justo for the top spot.

In Peru, Liga 1 kicked off its Clausura tournament after a pause for the World Cup, introducing several rule changes. Substitutions now have a 10‑second limit (except for injury or safety), players receiving on‑field treatment must leave and wait 60 seconds before returning, throw‑ins must be taken within 5 seconds, and VAR can now correct second yellow cards, identity errors, and misawarded corner kicks. A new red‑card offense penalises players who cover their mouth to insult or confront an opponent.
