Argentina ANSES clarifies families eligible for full AUH payments
The National Social Security Administration (ANSES) announced that families with children up to five years old who are registered in the Plan Sumar and have completed the required medical check‑ups and the National Vaccination Calendar will receive the full Universal Child Allowance (AUH) payment without the usual 20 % monthly retention. The 100 % payment is applied automatically when health data can be cross‑checked between ANSES and the Ministry of Health; otherwise the retention remains and beneficiaries must present their AUH booklet the following year to recover the withheld amount. The agency also confirmed that Resolution 1170/2025 did not alter the general AUH eligibility rules, including school attendance requirements from age 5 and the handling of prior retentions.
ANSES reiterated that it has not reactivated its credit program for AUH beneficiaries. The previous loan scheme was eliminated by Decree 421/2025, and families seeking credit must turn to private banks. A pending legislative proposal, the “Program of Debt Relief for Argentine Families,” would allow ANSES to grant loans up to ARS 1.5 million with interest based on the TAMAR rate plus 10 percentage points, repayment capped at 30 % of monthly income, and direct debt cancellation by ANSES recovered through AUH deductions. The bill has not yet been debated in Congress.
