Argentina approves two RIGI projects, including Pampa Energía fertilizer plant

Argentina's Minister of Economy Luis Caputo announced that the Evaluation Committee approved two new projects under the Regime of Incentives for Large Investments (RIGI), bringing the total number of approved initiatives to 23 and the committed investment to about USD 49 billion.

The first project is a fertilizer plant by Pampa Energía, with an investment of USD 2.7 billion. It will produce granular urea from natural gas, create more than 3,500 construction jobs, and is expected to generate over USD 800 million in annual foreign‑exchange earnings.

The second project is the expansion of Compañía MEGA, which will invest USD 360 million to increase its natural‑gas‑liquids capacity by 1,500 tonnes per day. The expansion will create about 800 jobs and is projected to export roughly USD 190 million per year. President Javier Milei met with Pampa Energía owner Marcelo Mindlin to formalize the approval.
