Argentina arrests linked to murder of teen Agostina Vega

A 14‑year‑old girl, Agostina Vega, was found dead in Argentina, triggering a femicide investigation. Authorities have detained three people: Claudio Barrelier, identified as the principal suspect for aggravated homicide; his former partner Soledad Andreani, accused of aggravated concealment; and Osvaldo Fassetta, who lived with Barrelier and is also under investigation.

A hardware‑store owner reported seeing Barrelier and Andreani buying items on the day they are believed to have disposed of Vega's body, contradicting Andreani’s earlier claims of no involvement. The testimony describes the pair behaving normally and not attempting to hide their identities.

Separately, relatives of Vega’s mother, Melisa Heredia, denied reports that judicial officials had taken DNA samples from her while she was hospitalized, calling the claim false. The investigation continues to examine each suspect’s role in the crime and any potential evidence‑tampering.
