Argentina arrests two men for animal cruelty offenses

Police in Argentina detained a 26‑year‑old man in Pocito after discovering a severely malnourished horse used to pull a cart. The animal was taken to a police station for veterinary assessment and the driver was charged with violating the animal cruelty law.

In a separate incident in Tucumán Province, gendarmerie officers stopped a vehicle on Route 9 and found 27 wild birds hidden in the trunk. The birds were released back into the wild following instructions from the provincial wildlife authority, and the driver faced charges for breaching the provincial natural resources law.
