Argentina: Artists join protest against foreign land ownership law

The political climate in Argentina has shifted following unexpected involvement from popular cultural figures. Singer and actress Tini Stoessel sparked a social media movement by posting “La Patria no se vende” (The Homeland is not for sale) on Instagram.

This expression of dissent coincided with Senate debates regarding a government proposal to expand foreign capital participation in the purchase of Argentine lands. Following Stoessel's post, several other prominent artists, including Lali Espósito, Nicki Nicole, Wos, and María Becerra, expressed similar sentiments via social media, joining calls for marches.
