Argentina authorities rescue rural workers from poor housing
Authorities in Argentina conducted an inter-institutional operation to rescue four rural workers following a report made via the Line 145 hotline. The workers, who were performing fencing tasks at an establishment located approximately 25 kilometers from Route Provincial No. 5, were found to be living in conditions with severe housing and habitability deficiencies.
The intervention involved the Secretariat of Labor, the Labor and Safety Police, and the Hygiene and Safety Directorate, alongside the Argentine Union of Rural Workers and Stevedores (UATRE), the National Registry of Rural Workers and Employers (RENATRE), and the National Gendarmerie.
As a preventive measure, the four workers were removed from the establishment and transferred to a National Gendarmerie facility to ensure their protection and provide assistance. Administrative records were filed for alleged violations of the Rural Labor Regime and National Commission of Rural Labor (CNTA) regulations regarding hygiene and rural housing.
