Argentina authorizes new traffic control devices on national routes

The National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) has authorized the deployment of new traffic control devices on several national routes in Argentina.

In Neuquén, the municipality of Piedra del Águila is permitted to operate two devices on National Route 237. One SYSTECO DIGIMAX 4.0 speed camera will be located at kilometer 1446.5, capable of monitoring both directions. A second Fluxa WF-1100 device at kilometer 1445.3 will detect improper overtaking and the failure to use low-beam headlights.

In Corrientes, the municipality of Curuzú Cuatiá has been authorized to use six devices on National Routes 14 and 119. This includes three fixed speed cameras and three units designed to detect improper overtaking and the lack of low-beam headlights. On Route 14, cameras will be placed at kilometer 437.6 and 438.2. On Route 119, a combined speed and detection unit will be installed at kilometer 31.7.

The ANSV emphasized that these measures are intended to be preventive, deterrent, and educational rather than purely for revenue collection, and the municipality must ensure proper signage and certification.
