Argentina aviation unions threaten airport disruptions over wage and safety disputes

The Association of State Workers (ATE) representing staff of the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) has declared a state of alert and mobilization, demanding an urgent salary adjustment for aviation personnel. The union warned that without a sectoral bargaining round airport operations nationwide could face serious delays and cancellations during the upcoming winter holidays.

In a related issue, the Association of Technical and Airport Security Employees (ATEPSA) accused the Argentine Air Navigation Company (EANA) and transport officials of pressuring air‑traffic controllers to reduce approach intervals and of using airport police to remove a union representative during an ATM system upgrade. ATEPSA said the actions jeopardize operational safety and violate workers’ rights, calling for an immediate halt to the pressures and respect for union activity.
