Buenos Aires public employees secure 7% salary hike in two installments

The provincial government of Buenos Aires approved a 7% salary increase for several public‑sector groups, to be paid in two installments (5% in July, 2% in August).

Health professionals represented by the CICOP union accepted the offer, which also includes the start of a re‑categorization of the basic salary for health workers effective 1 Oct 2026. The agreement provides a first step of a 5% raise in July and a further 2% in August, with a new technical table scheduled for 30 July to advance related regulations.

Judicial employees represented by the Asociación Judicial Bonaerense (AJB) also approved the same 7% increase under identical terms. The vote was carried out in departmental assemblies, with the majority of departments supporting the raise while a few (Dolores, Junín, Moreno‑General Rodríguez, San Nicolás) rejected it. The increase will be calculated on June salaries, which already incorporated a prior 9.3% adjustment.

Both agreements were endorsed by Governor Axel Kicillof’s administration and are part of a broader provincial effort to align public‑sector wages with inflation.
