Argentina dollar rates surge on July 27, 2026 with official at 1,520 and blue above 1,530

On Monday 27 July 2026 the Argentine peso’s official exchange rate closed at 1,520 ARS per US $1, while the informal "blue" market traded above 1,530 ARS, reaching 1,560 ARS for the sell‑side. The "tarjeta" (card) rate remained about 30 % higher, at roughly 1,976 ARS per dollar. Bank‑by‑bank quotations showed minor variations, with Banco Nación and most major banks listing the official rate at 1,520 ARS and the tarjeta rate around 1,976 ARS.

The broader market also quoted the wholesale (MEP) rate near 1,530 ARS, the CCL around 1,600 ARS and a crypto‑linked dollar near 1,574 ARS. Analysts noted that the spread between official and parallel rates stayed wide, reflecting ongoing inflation pressures and capital controls.

Government spokesman Adrián Ravier’s comments that the dollar could reach 1,800 ARS were dismissed by economists, who projected the rate staying near 1,700 ARS in the short term, with the market’s own forecasts placing the wholesale dollar around 1,673 ARS by year‑end.
