Argentina basketball federation expands youth development and launches 2026 Pre Federal tournament

The Confederación Argentina de Básquetbol held a talent‑identification session at the Grilón Arena of Racing Club in Chivilcoy. Four players from Club El Linqueño—Nazareno Moreno, Tomás Porta, Simona Bertonazzi and Renata Lamolla—were invited to train and be evaluated by national technical staff as part of the federation’s Plan de Desarrollo Federal aimed at spotting future national‑team prospects.

The Federación de Básquetbol de la Provincia de Corrientes announced that the 2026 Torneo Pre Federal will feature ten clubs, beginning the first weekend of August. The competition will be split into two groups of five, with a double‑round robin and playoffs, and will award four places in the 2027 Liga Federal. Participating clubs include Sportivo, Juventus, Córdoba, Colón, El Tala, Pingüinos, Foot Ball de Esquina, Español de Santa Lucía, San Lorenzo de Monte Caseros and San Martín de Curuzú Cuatiá; Amad de Goya and Atlético Saladas will not compete.
