Argentina bus unions halt interurban services for World Cup final

The Unión de Tranvías Automotor (UTA) and the Asociación Obrera de la Industria del Transporte Automotor (AOITA) have asked authorities to suspend interurban bus routes from 15:00 on Sunday, the day of the FIFA World Cup final in which Argentina will play. The unions cite “exceptional circumstances” and the risk of violence, vandalism and crowd‑related incidents, aiming to protect drivers, passengers and vehicles.

If approved, the suspension will affect all interurban services for the afternoon and evening, with normal schedules expected to resume on Monday morning.
