Argentina business tourism sector focuses on international growth at Meet Up Argentina
The Meet Up Argentina event, organized by the Argentine Association of Organizers and Providers of Exhibitions, Congresses, Events, and Convention Bureaus (AOCA), highlighted the strategic importance of the meetings tourism sector for the national economy.
Fabián Moncada, president of AOCA, emphasized that business tourism generates higher average spending than conventional tourism and helps reduce seasonality by filling occupancy gaps during weekdays. The event hosted 80 international buyers from Brazil, Chile, Europe, and the United States. Moncada noted the need for improved connectivity, reduced tax burdens, and specific legislation to bolster the industry's competitiveness.
Representing the Entre Ríos province, the Mixed Tourism Entity of Entre Ríos (Emturer) participated in the event, conducting 73 scheduled and 22 spontaneous business meetings. The delegation showcased destinations including Concordia, Colón, Paraná, Villa Elisa, Gualeguaychú, Federación, and Victoria. Jorge Satto, president of Emturer, stated that the meetings segment allows the province to work year-round and incorporates various sectors into the economic value chain.
