Argentina celebrates 40th anniversary of Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota album Oktubre

The album ‘Oktubre’ by Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota is marking its 40th anniversary. Released in October 1986, the record served as a turning point for the band led by Carlos ‘el Indio’ Solari and Eduardo ‘Skay’ Beilinson, helping to establish their unique musical and aesthetic identity.

Recorded at Panda Studios in Buenos Aires, the album is noted for its dark atmosphere and post-punk influences. It features iconic tracks such as ‘Preso en mi ciudad’, ‘Música para pastillas’, and ‘Jijiji’. The lyrics, written by Solari, are recognized for capturing the social tension, political unease, and cultural climate of the era.

In related cultural celebrations, the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires is also hosting a special program to honor rock legend Charly García. The festivities include concerts, photographic exhibitions, and musical tributes at various venues across the city.
