Argentina celebrates Psychopedagogy Day and professional milestones
Argentina celebrated Psychopedagogy Day on September 17, marking the anniversary of the profession's development and the 1982 foundation of the Argentine Federation of Psychopedagogy (FAB).
In Jujuy, authorities from the Professional College of Psychopedagogy held a ceremony to highlight the role of specialists in the province. Federico Tolay, president of the Board of Directors, noted that the profession has 46 years of history in the country and five years in Jujuy, following the 2021 establishment of the local college. The profession is regulated by Provincial Law No. 6040/17.
Experts emphasize that psychopedagogy is a transversal discipline that extends beyond childhood and school settings. It involves diagnosing and optimizing cognitive and socio-affective capacities throughout the entire life cycle, including adult learning and occupational environments. Professionals work to understand the emotional and contextual factors behind learning difficulties to design inclusive strategies.
