Argentina community knitting projects provide bracelets for schoolchildren and blankets for seniors

In the Juan XXIII neighbourhood of Argentina, more than 40 women volunteers knit 74 bracelets, over 150 escarapelas and began making hats for children at School 183 and the nearby kindergarten. The effort, coordinated by local residents such as María Gallardo and Lucía Mansilla, supports the school’s flag‑promise ceremony and provides winter headwear for youngsters.

Separately, teachers, students and families from Escuela 4‑098 República del Perú in San Rafael launched the "Sumando cuadrados, multiplicando abrigo" campaign. Participants stitched 15 cm × 15 cm squares, joined with contributions from schools Geary and Lagiglia, to assemble blankets for the elderly residents of Asilo Hogar Las Mercedes. The project aims to combine inter‑generational solidarity with practical warmth for the home’s seniors.
