Mexico announces 647.8 billion peso national infrastructure program

The Mexican Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT) has unveiled the National Infrastructure Program for 2025–2030. The plan involves a combined public and private investment of 647,832 million pesos to develop 11,366 kilometers of infrastructure.

A major component of the program focuses on the construction, modernization, and rehabilitation of 402 bridges and distributors. Currently, 177 bridges have been completed, representing a 44 percent progress rate. The administration also aims to complete 180 to 190 kilometers of passenger railway bridges.

Specific projects highlighted include the Nichupté bridge in Quintana Roo, which significantly reduces travel time, and the Rizo de Oro bridge in Chiapas, notable for its metallic arch design. Additionally, the San Luis–Matehuala highway is nearing completion, with strategic interchanges exceeding 90 percent progress and an expected conclusion in 2027.
