Argentina conducts training on positive aging and digital citizenship
A training session titled “Hackear el viejismo: Narrativas regenerativas para transformar la mirada sobre la vejez” was held at the Cine Teatro Catamarca. Organized by the Ministry of Government, Security and Justice together with the Municipal Council of Older Adults, the event featured gerontology specialist Sol Rodríguez Maiztegui and aimed at officials, technical teams and the public. Participants were urged to replace ageist stereotypes with a positive, inclusive view of older people, emphasizing their rights and active role in the community.
Separately, the provincial Youth Directorate and the Public Ministry conducted a workshop under the “Eco de un Click” project at Colegio Secundario Huaico Hondo. The session educated secondary‑school students and adults on responsible digital citizenship, covering topics such as cyber‑bullying, online scams, privacy protection, deepfakes and non‑consensual image sharing. Guides and QR‑linked resources, including tools from TikTok, were distributed to support safe internet use and early detection of online risks.
