Argentina Congress schedules legislative agenda for upcoming week

The Argentine Congress has scheduled committee meetings for the upcoming week in both the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. In the Chamber of Deputies, the La Libertad Avanza party intends to debate several key items, including the reform of the Central Bank's Organic Charter, the Fiscal Innocence II Law, and the ratification of a free trade agreement between Mercosur and Singapore.

Other topics on the agenda for the lower house include the ratification of the Patent Treaty and a project to reduce the VAT rate on cassava starch. Additionally, the Municipal Affairs Committee will discuss a Federal Regime for metropolitan areas, while the Human Rights and Guarantees Committee will address the situation of people experiencing homelessness.

In the Senate, a parliamentary labor meeting is scheduled for Tuesday. The administration aims to hold a session on Thursday to address judicial appointments and the “Ley Hojarasca,” though the final timing depends on agreements with political allies.
