Córdoba leaders debate budget gaps and inaugurate new urban park
In Córdoba, Argentina, political leaders and industry representatives are addressing infrastructure and budgetary concerns. Minister Miguel Siciliano criticized the National Budget proposal, claiming it contains “zero public works for Córdoba” despite the province’s significant tax and export contributions to the National Treasury.
Simultaneously, the construction sector is facing scrutiny. The Minister of Deregulation and Transformation of the State questioned the Argentine Chamber of Construction (CAMARCO) regarding wage agreements with the UOCRA union, accusing the chamber of “giving away money” while construction costs remain high and the sector faces a decline.
On a local level, Governor Martín Llaryora, along with former Governor Juan Schiaretti and Mayor Daniel Passerini, inaugurated the 36,000-square-meter “Papa León XIV” Park. The new green space, located between the Civic Center and the Provincial Legislature, features walking paths, inclusive playgrounds, and native vegetation. Additionally, urban maintenance is underway in Córdoba city with the repaving of major thoroughfares, including Vélez Sarsfield and 24 de Septiembre avenues.
