Argentina corn harvest reaches historic record of 64 million tons
Argentina's 2025/26 corn harvest has concluded nationally, with production estimated at 64 million tons. This figure represents a historic record, surpassing the previous maximum from the 2018/19 campaign by 8.5 million tons.
As the 2026/27 agricultural cycle begins, planting for commercial corn has reached 22.2% of the projected 8.4 million hectares. While soil moisture levels are currently favorable, producers are monitoring potential El Niño weather patterns, which could bring both beneficial water availability and risks of flooding.
In addition to corn, sunflower planting has covered 32.9% of its projected area, aided by recent rainfall. Early wheat harvests in the north of the country are also showing results that exceed historical averages.
