Argentina court releases man accused of harassing Sofía Gonet and Homero Pettinato
Hernán Bloquero, who was accused of harassing influencer Sofía Gonet for a decade and threatening comedian Homero Pettinato, has been released from a mental health center in Junín, Argentina.
Judge María Fabiana Patiño authorized Bloquero to continue his treatment on an outpatient basis after he was declared legally incompetent due to an inability to understand the criminality of his actions. While he is permitted to return to his residence and move freely in public, the decision has raised concerns because the intervening prosecutor in Buenos Aires reportedly had not received official notification of the measure.
In response to the release, protection measures have been reactivated. Homero Pettinato has been reissued a panic button, and authorities are working to provide similar protection to Sofía Gonet. Following his release, Bloquero posted on Instagram, stating, “The haters are and will always be the same problem,” and adding, “We are more alive than ever. As you can see, we are in the street.”
