Argentina Court Sentences Angel Enrique Artaza to 14 Years for Aggravated Child Sexual Abuse

The Third Criminal Chamber of the First Judicial District in La Rioja sentenced Angel Enrique Artaza to 14 years of effective imprisonment for aggravated sexual abuse with carnal access. The court, presided over by Judge Gustavo Díaz with judges Sara López Douglas and Edith Agüero, found Artaza guilty of repeatedly abusing his niece between 2011 and 2019, beginning in Córdoba and later continuing in La Ríoja. The victim was aged 6‑13 during the assaults. The judgment ordered continuous psychological treatment for the offender and mandated that the sentence be served in a provincial penitentiary.
