Argentina crime: Burglary arrest and nine-year prison sentence

In separate criminal cases in Argentina, judicial authorities have addressed incidents of burglary and armed attacks.

In Buenos Aires, a 36-year-old man with 19 criminal records and three prior convictions was arrested by the City Police after breaking into a printing company in the Parque Patricios neighborhood. The suspect, who had been free for only two months, gained entry to the warehouse by cutting through fiberglass and drywall in the roof. His extensive criminal history includes robbery, drug law violations, and resisting authority.

In Alvear, a 24-year-old man, Nicolás L., was sentenced to nine years in prison for an armed attack carried out in December 2023. The attack targeted a residence and an adjacent business belonging to the family of the Alvear communal president. The court found the defendant responsible for illegal possession of a war weapon, aggravated damage, and firearm threats after he fired at least six shots from a 9mm pistol during the early morning hours.
